  • The Portal is a platform and tool where you can create, host and be paid for your digital offers. We are also the marketplace - your work is shared alongside others making you discoverable as well as opening up network and collaboration opportunities.

    It is free to experience The Portal and join our community (currently hosted on Circle- it’s big bucks to build our own, and we’re just getting started- more on that below). There is an abundance of free materials to experience from Creators - live events, community spaces and practices you can return to again and again. Join us to build connections and find support for these times we are living in.

  • You can get started as a Creator in a few simple steps! Create a free account and then select to upgrade to Creator for £45+ vat a month.

    Create an offer there - you could start with a simple free or low cost offer.

    Connect your Stripe account so you can be paid and then start sharing the url on your emails or social media!

    You’ll also benefit from having the eyes of our growing community - via the platform, our community space and our marketing.

  • You only pay the Stripe transaction fees. 

    It is £45 a month+ vat to create with us and that allows for unlimited creation and hosting of offers including unlimited video storage (no need to link out and pay for somewhere else). 

    As well as being able to create and host for that cost, you’ll also gain access to community support such as virtual co-working, workshops, networking opportunities and support from others such as somatic family support, ideating sessions and book clubs!

  • We have Creators across the globe and a number of offers in different languages. We actively encourage you to share in the language you wish for your community.

    We currently have the ability for you to charge for your work in GBP, USD, EUR, AUD and CAD and will be expanding that as we grow.

  • The Portal is integrated with Stripe Connect as the marketplace facilitator and deemed supplier. This means all transactions go through The Portal platform before being transferred to your connected Stripe account.

    When you become a Creator, before you can sell anything you create on The Portal you need to connect your Stripe account with ours. You are also required to set your location. 

    It is your responsibility to ensure you provide Stripe the correct information when setting up your Stripe business account. 

    Knowing your location, Stripe calculates the tax required on a digital product depending on where the buyer is. For example, if you are a UK based Creator selling to someone in Germany, they will be required to pay 19% on top of the offer price.

    This means The Portal, via Stripe Connect and Stripe Tax, now does the heavy lifting of making sure you’re compliant when selling globally - calculating the correct tax and removing it to be paid before it hits your account.

    You are able to review and export all transactions from your connected Stripe dashboard. This will provide all the information for any accountancy admin.

    Many Creators are unaware of their tax obligations when selling digital products internationally - something not unique to The Portal platform. These obligations exist regardless of platform and without this functionality you would be required to take responsibility for charging and paying appropriate VAT via location.

    For more information, please refer to Stripe documentation and if still unsure you should seek input from an accountant. The Portal is unable to provide tax advice.

  • The Portal is a unique blend of parts you may recognise from other platforms. You can write and share long form content like Substack, create and share monthly multimedia content for your members like Patreon and create and grow a community like Skool. You can also create and share evergreen courses with video, audio and PDFs like Podia or Teachable.

    The difference is we’re doing it alongside each other in an ecosystem rather than sharing our work in a vacuum. So while someone may come to experience another Creator’s offering, they may also discover and sign up for yours.

    This also opens up collaboration opportunities and networks - keeping you and your work visible without an overreliance on social media.

    And also, our values and ethos. We don’t want to take any VC funding 😣

    This isn’t about scaling for a billion dollar exit like those in Silicon Valley - we’re headed to a community ownership model where money made is put back into the platform and our amazing community that got it here.

  • While we’ve built everything you need to create, host and be paid for your online offers, this is our first build - something that has been bootstrapped and community funded. That's the fun of it! We're on the start of this journey building something entirely different, together.
